Caucasian Zelkova

A magnificent large deciduous tree, forming a broad, vase-shaped crown, eventually reaching 20-30m high with a spread of 10-15m. It is valued for its elegant, serrated, elm-like leaves that turn attractive shades of yellow, orange, and russet in autumn. The smooth, grey bark often exfoliates with age, revealing orange-brown patches, adding winter interest. Hardy to H6, it thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil, tolerating urban conditions. An excellent alternative to elms, showing good resistance to Dutch elm disease. A stately specimen tree for parks and large gardens.
