Sweetcorn 'Early Bird'

Sweetcorn 'Early Bird' is an early maturing sweetcorn variety, enabling gardeners in cooler UK climates to achieve a good crop. It produces medium-sized cobs with sweet, tender kernels. Plants are vigorous, growing to 1.5-2m tall, with a spread of 30-45cm. As a tender annual, it is H2 hardy, requiring warm conditions and protection from late frosts. Tassels and silks appear in mid-summer (July-August) for pollination, with cobs ready for harvest in late summer. It demands full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Plant in blocks for good pollination.
