Bamboo 'Pitt White'

A stunning and vigorous bamboo originally sourced from the Pitt White estate in Devon. This Yushania is known for its elegant, graceful habit, with long, slender culms that arch under the weight of exceptionally fine, needle-like foliage. It creates a soft, misty appearance that is quite unlike most other bamboos. It can reach heights of 4-5 metres. However, gardeners should be aware that it is a vigorous spender with a running habit, necessitating a large space or a very secure root barrier. It is hardy to H5 and thrives in the British climate, particularly in areas with high rainfall. It is best suited to woodland gardens or as a large, informal screen where it can be allowed to express its natural form. It prefers a moist, fertile soil and a sheltered position to protect its delicate foliage from wind damage. A truly beautiful plant for the right location. village.
