Woodwardia

Woodwardia orientalis, also known as the Oriental Chain Fern, is a stunning, large evergreen fern prized for its unique reproductive strategy and impressive fronds. Native to East Asia, this fern can develop fronds up to 1.5 meters long, forming a magnificent, arching display. Its most captivating feature is the production of plantlets (young ferns) directly on its frond tips, which, when they touch the ground, root and form new plants, creating a captivating display. The fronds are a rich green, broadly triangular, and have a somewhat leathery texture. It prefers moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil and a sheltered, shaded location, ideal for a focal point.
