Weigela Shrub 'Black and White'
'Black and White' is a distinctive, low-growing deciduous shrub that offers a sharp colour contrast. It has an attractive, mounding habit and dark, burgundy-tinged foliage that provides interest from spring through autumn. In early summer, it produces an abundance of pure white, trumpet-shaped flowers that stand out vividly against the dark leaves. This compact cultivar is ideal for smaller gardens, containers, or for planting at the front of a border. In the UK, it is fully hardy and very easy to grow, tolerating most soil types as long as they are well-drained. It flowers best in a sunny position, though it will grow in partial shade. Maintenance is straightforward: simply prune out some of the older wood after flowering to encourage new growth. It is relatively resistant to pests and diseases and is a reliable performer year after year. The flowers are attractive to bees and other pollinators, making it a great addition to a wildlife-friendly garden. Its small stature makes it very versatile for modern landscaping.
