Culver's Root 'Lavendelturm'

Veronicastrum virginicum 'Lavendelturm' is a majestic perennial that brings elegant verticality to the late summer garden. Known commonly as 'Lavender Tower', it produces slender, candelabra-like spikes of pale lavender-blue flowers that can reach up to 1.5 metres in height. The flowers are arranged in whorls around the stems, providing a unique architectural structure that persists even after the blooms have faded. Its lance-shaped leaves are also arranged in attractive whorls along the straight, sturdy stems, ensuring the plant looks good throughout the season. It is a fantastic plant for attracting pollinators, especially bees and butterflies, which flock to the tiny, nectar-rich florets. This cultivar prefers reliable moisture and thrives in a sunny or partially shaded border with deep, fertile soil. It is fully hardy and does not usually require staking. It works exceptionally well in 'prairie-style' planting schemes or at the back of a traditional herbaceous border where its height and form can be truly appreciated.
