Mullein 'Crush'

Verbascum 'Crush' is a striking biennial mullein that lights up UK gardens with its unique colour combination. It forms a handsome rosette of large, felted, silvery-green leaves in its first year. In its second year, it produces impressive, towering flower spikes, reaching up to 1.5-2 metres, adorned with a succession of large, crinkled, buttery-yellow flowers with contrasting purple-red centres. These appear from early to late summer, creating a dramatic vertical accent. Fully hardy (H5) and remarkably drought-tolerant, it flourishes in full sun and well-drained, even poor, neutral to alkaline soil. Excellent for dry borders, gravel gardens, or as a focal point.
