Sargent's Weeping Hemlock 'Sargentii'

Tsuga canadensis 'Sargentii' is a magnificent, broad-spreading evergreen conifer, forming a large, gracefully weeping mound or dome with tiers of horizontal branches from which branchlets droop elegantly. This creates a superb textural and architectural specimen for large UK gardens. It is a slow-growing cultivar, eventually reaching an ultimate height of 3-5 metres with a spread of 6-8 metres. Its delicate, deep green needles add to its refined appearance. This conifer thrives in partial shade to full shade and prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soils. It is fully hardy, rated H7 by the RHS, but requires shelter from strong, drying winds. An RHS AGM holder, offering exceptional year-round elegance and a powerful presence.
