Small Leaved Lime

A lovely native UK deciduous tree, forming a neat, dense, conical to broadly oval crown, reaching 20-25m tall with a spread of 10-15m. Its small, heart-shaped leaves are dark green, turning clear yellow in autumn. Clusters of fragrant, pale yellow flowers appear in mid-summer, providing a valuable nectar source for bees. Fully hardy (H6) and tolerant of urban pollution, it prefers full sun to partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil, including chalk. An excellent specimen tree for avenues, parks, and larger gardens.
