Dwarf Western Red Cedar 'Whipcord'

Thuja plicata 'Whipcord' is an incredibly unique dwarf conifer, forming a shaggy, weeping mound of long, whip-like, dark green, glossy foliage that resembles cords. This slow-growing cultivar typically reaches 1-1.5 metres in height and spread, making it ideal for rockeries, containers, or as a truly distinctive specimen plant. It prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil (H7). The unusual texture and form provide exceptional year-round interest, especially in winter when it can turn bronzy-purple tints. An RHS AGM holder, 'Whipcord' is a wonderful choice for adding character and a touch of the eccentric to the garden.
