Thuja plicata 'Atrovirens' is a robust, fast-growing cultivar of Western Red Cedar, known for its dense, glossy, dark green, aromatic foliage that remains vibrant throughout the year. It forms a majestic, narrowly conical to pyramidal shape, making it an excellent choice for tall hedging, screening, or as a stately specimen tree. Small, upright, ovoid cones are produced in autumn. This adaptable conifer thrives in most well-drained soils and prefers a sunny to partially shaded position. Fully hardy in the UK, 'Atrovirens' provides superb year-round structure and shelter.
