White Cedar 'Golden Tuffet'
'Golden Tuffet' is a charming dwarf conifer that forms a neat, rounded, cushion-like mound of braided, cord-like foliage. Unlike many other Thuja varieties, its foliage is fine-textured and lacks a strong central leader, giving it a soft, mossy appearance. The colour is a warm golden-orange in summer, deepening to a rich bronze or burnt-orange during the winter months, providing excellent seasonal interest. It is fully hardy in the UK (H6) and is particularly well-suited for rock gardens, front-of-border positions, or patio containers. It grows slowly, reaching about 60cm in diameter over ten years. It prefers a sunny spot in moist but well-drained soil; while it can tolerate light shade, the winter bronze tints are most pronounced in full sun. It is a reliable and trouble-free plant that adds a unique texture to any evergreen collection.
