Pond Cypress
A distinct variety of Swamp Cypress, the Pond Cypress has a narrower, more columnar habit and distinctive upward-curving or appressed foliage, giving the branchlets an almost rope-like appearance. Like its close relative, it is a deciduous conifer, with light green foliage turning rusty brown in autumn. Ultimate height 10-15 metres with a spread of 3-5 metres. Thrives in full sun and wet, even permanently inundated, soils. Excellent for damp spots or bog gardens where its unique form can be appreciated.
