Mexican Marigold
Tagetes lucida, commonly known as Mexican Marigold or Mexican Mint Marigold, is a vibrant annual herb grown for both its ornamental value and its anise-like flavour. Reaching about 60-90cm in height and 30-45cm in spread, it produces a profusion of small, bright yellow, single marigold-like flowers from late summer into autumn. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating a range of conditions once established. The aromatic foliage is attractive, and the flowers are a good source of nectar for pollinators. In the UK, it is typically grown as an annual, providing a late burst of colour and an interesting culinary herb.
