Swedish Whitebeam
A medium-sized deciduous tree with a dense, broadly conical to oval crown, reaching 10-15m tall with a spread of 6-8m. It features attractive lobed leaves that are dark green above and silvery-grey beneath, creating a lovely shimmering effect. White flowers in late spring are followed by abundant clusters of orange-red berries in autumn, providing excellent sustenance for birds. Extremely hardy (H6) and tolerant of urban pollution, exposure, and a range of soils, including chalk. A reliable and visually appealing tree for challenging sites.
