Potato 'Pentland Javelin'

'Pentland Javelin' is a popular first early potato cultivar, producing high yields of oval, white-skinned tubers with creamy white, floury flesh. It's an excellent all-rounder, particularly good for boiling and steaming, and makes great new potatoes. The plants grow to about 60cm tall and spread 45cm. This reliable variety is H3 hardy, requiring protection from hard frosts. 'Pentland Javelin' thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Plant in early spring for late spring to early summer harvests, often ready in 10-12 weeks. It boasts good disease resistance, particularly to common scab. An RHS AGM winner, valued for its consistent yields and delicious, early harvest.
