Alpine Catchfly

This delightful alpine perennial forms a low cushion of neat, green foliage, adorned with a profusion of pure white, star-like flowers with deeply notched petals from late spring to mid-summer. It typically grows to a height of 10-15cm with a spread of 20-30cm. Silene alpestris is fully hardy (H7) and thrives in full sun and well-drained, gritty soil. Its charming blooms attract small pollinators, making it a lovely addition to any rock garden or alpine trough.
