Golden Californian Redwood 'Aptos Blue'

Sequoia sempervirens 'Aptos Blue' is a vibrant evergreen conifer, forming a vigorous, narrowly conical tree with dense, feathery foliage of an intense blue-green, making it a striking specimen for large UK gardens. It can achieve impressive ultimate heights of 20-30 metres with a spread of 5-8 metres, growing relatively fast in good conditions. The flattened, needle-like leaves are densely packed, providing a rich texture. This conifer thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers deep, moist, well-drained, acidic soils. It is fully hardy, rated H7 by the RHS, but benefits from shelter, especially when young. Its strong colour and stately form provide dramatic year-round interest and vertical emphasis.
