Tall Hedge Bamboo 'Viridis'

A striking, upright running bamboo known for its stiff, vertical growth habit and strong, dark green culms. It can reach an impressive ultimate height of 5-8m, forming an excellent, dense screen or hedge. It is very hardy in the UK (H5). Flowering is uncommon. It thrives in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Its columnar growth makes it ideal for formal hedging or for adding vertical emphasis to a garden. It requires containment to limit its spread, but is less rampant than some other running types.

Hardiness: H5 — down to −15°C.
