Creamy Stonecrop 'Red Wiggle'
Sedum ochroleucum 'Red Wiggle' is a quirky and colourful succulent that adds fine-textured interest to the garden. It features narrow, needle-like leaves arranged in whorls along creeping stems. The foliage is a remarkable mix of green, orange, and vibrant red, particularly at the tips, giving it a 'wiggly' and multicoloured appearance. This colouration is most pronounced in winter and when grown in poor, sunny conditions. It is a hardy (H4) evergreen that forms a low mat about 10cm high, making it ideal for rock gardens or as an unusual groundcover. In summer, it produces upright stems topped with flat clusters of pale yellow, star-shaped flowers. It is very easy to propagate from stem cuttings and is remarkably drought-tolerant once established. Its unique texture and shifting colours provide visual interest throughout the year, even when not in bloom.
