Donkey's Tail Stonecrop
Sedum morganianum, commonly known as Donkey's Tail or Burro's Tail, is a stunning trailing succulent best grown in hanging baskets or tall containers in the UK, especially in conservatories or warm, sheltered outdoor spots during summer. Its long, pendulous stems are densely covered with plump, blue-green, tear-drop shaped leaves, creating a unique, rope-like effect. Small, pinkish-red flowers may appear at the tips of the stems, though the foliage is the main attraction. It requires bright, indirect light and well-drained soil. Protect from frost and excessive moisture in winter. A truly eye-catching plant for a sheltered patio.
Sun: Full sun to partial shade.
Soil: Well-drained gritty soil.
Hardiness: H2 — down to 1°C.
Flowering: Jun, Jul.
