Russian Stonecrop 'Variegatum'

This eye-catching succulent is a fantastic ground cover for hot, dry spots, such as rockeries, gravel gardens, or the tops of walls. 'Variegatum' features fleshy, spatula-shaped leaves that are a bright green with creamy-white margins, often becoming tinged with pink when exposed to strong sunlight or cold temperatures. It forms a low-growing, spreading mat that stays attractive all year round. In mid to late summer, it produces flat-topped clusters of starry, bright orange-yellow flowers that contrast brilliantly with the variegated foliage. It is incredibly drought-tolerant and requires sharply drained soil to prevent winter rot. This plant is fully hardy and very low-maintenance, making it an ideal choice for busy gardeners. It is also excellent for green roofs or as a filler between stepping stones where it can enjoy the reflected heat from the sun.
