Aizoon Stonecrop 'Euphorbioides'

Sedum aizoon 'Euphorbioides' is a robust, clump-forming perennial succulent that brings height and structure to the garden. Unlike many low-growing stonecrops, this cultivar grows in upright, unbranched stems that reach up to 40-50cm. The leaves are long, oval, and serrated, with a rich green colour. In mid to late summer, the stems are topped with flat, dense heads of bright, starry yellow flowers that are incredibly popular with bees and other pollinators. It is fully hardy in the UK (H6), making it a reliable and easy-to-grow choice for sunny borders or large rockaries. After flowering, the seed heads turn a decorative rusty-brown, providing interest well into the autumn. It is deciduous, dying back to the ground in winter before emerging again in spring. It thrives in any well-drained soil in a sunny position and is remarkably drought-tolerant once established. Its taller habit makes it an excellent companion for other hardy succulents or late-summer perennials.
