Christmas Cactus

The Christmas Cactus is a beloved and popular houseplant in the UK, cherished for its spectacular display of colourful, tubular flowers that typically bloom around the Christmas period. Its flattened, segmented stems cascade gracefully, making it perfect for hanging baskets or as a tabletop centrepiece. Flowers come in shades of red, pink, white, purple, and orange. Unlike desert cacti, it's an epiphyte, native to tropical rainforests, requiring a bright position with indirect light and higher humidity. It thrives in well-drained but moisture-retentive compost and needs regular watering during growth and flowering, with a cooler, drier rest period to encourage budding. Keep frost-free.
