Lifelong Saxifrage 'Silver Maid'

Saxifraga paniculata 'Silver Maid' is a delightful silver saxifrage that is highly valued for its striking architectural foliage and ease of cultivation. It forms beautiful, symmetrical rosettes of lime-encrusted, silver-grey leaves that have a distinctive serrated edge. These rosettes clump together over time to create a dense, attractive mat that provides interest throughout the year. In early summer, the plant produces tall, airy, reddish-tinted stems topped with branched panicles of small, creamy-white flowers, often delicately spotted with red. This cultivar is very well-suited to the UK climate, being perfectly hardy and able to cope with a range of conditions. It is particularly effective in crevice gardens, on tufa rock, or in the joints of a dry stone wall where the silver foliage can truly shine. Like most silver saxifrages, it requires excellent drainage and prefers a position in full sun or very light shade. It is a long-lived and rewarding plant that requires minimal intervention once its basic needs are met.碎
