Burnet 'Albiflora'

Sanguisorba tenuifolia 'Albiflora' is a graceful and airy perennial that brings a sense of movement to the garden. It is characterized by its tall, slender, branching stems that bear delicate, nodding, catkin-like spikes of pure white flowers. These elegant flowers dance in the breeze, held high above a base of fine, fern-like, pinnate foliage. Reaching heights of up to 1.5 metres, it is an ideal candidate for the middle or back of a border, where it can intermingle with other plants without overwhelming them. It is particularly effective when planted in large drifts or used in a naturalistic, prairie-style scheme. It prefers a moist but well-drained soil and thrives in a sunny or partially shaded position. It is fully hardy (H7) and generally very easy to grow. The seed heads can also be attractive in late autumn. It provides a wonderful contrast to bolder-textured plants and is a great source of nectar for various pollinators. It is a sophisticated choice for any UK garden.
