Weeping Willow
Instantly recognisable by its iconic graceful, pendulous branches, the weeping willow is a large, fast-growing deciduous tree that adds dramatic effect to waterside settings. Its long, narrow, light green leaves flutter delicately in the breeze, turning yellow in autumn before falling. Small, yellowish-green catkins appear in spring. While hardy, it is best suited to larger gardens or parks where its extensive root system won't cause issues and where it can be appreciated near water. It thrives in full sun and very moist to wet soils, creating a tranquil and elegant focal point.
