Sorrel 'Red Veined'

'Red Veined' Sorrel is a highly attractive and culinary perennial, grown for its striking green leaves boldly veined with crimson, adding both beauty and a piquant, lemony flavour to salads. It forms a low-growing rosette of leaves, typically reaching 20-30cm in height with a spread of 30cm. In summer, it sends up slender stems with inconspicuous reddish-brown flower spikes. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and moist, fertile, well-drained soil, though it tolerates poorer conditions. Hardy to H7, it's a reliable and easy-to-grow herb, providing continuous harvests of young leaves. Pinch out flower stalks to encourage leaf production.
