Rosularia

Rosularia platyphylla is a delightful, diminutive succulent perfect for miniature gardens, alpine troughs, or crevices in dry stone walls in the UK. It forms tight, flat rosettes of fleshy, grey-green leaves, sometimes with reddish tips when exposed to strong sun. The rosettes gradually multiply, forming a charming mat. In summer, it produces delicate, star-shaped, creamy-white flowers on short, slender stems. This species is surprisingly hardy but requires excellent drainage and a sheltered spot to thrive, making it ideal for a well-drained rockery. It's a low-growing, understated beauty that adds fine texture.

Sun: Full sun.

Soil: Very well-drained gritty or sandy.

Hardiness: H5 — down to −15°C.

Flowering: Jun, Jul.
