Rose 'Westerland'

A vigorous and versatile modern shrub rose that can also be grown as a short climber. 'Westerland' is famous for its large, semi-double, ruffled flowers in a striking blend of apricot, copper, and orange. The blooms are held in large clusters and emit a powerful, spicy perfume. The foliage is exceptionally healthy, displaying large, dark green, glossy leaves that are highly resistant to disease. In the UK, it provides a very long season of interest, flowering continuously from midsummer through to the first frosts. It reaches a height of 1.5m to 2.5m depending on pruning. It is a very hardy variety (H6) and can tolerate slightly poorer soils, though it flourishes when fed regularly. Its bold colour makes it a fantastic focal point in a mixed border, and it is sturdy enough to withstand more exposed, windy sites. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
