Rose 'Scepter'd Isle' 'Scepterd Isle'

A beautiful English shrub rose from David Austin, 'Scepter'd Isle' is known for its exceptionally elegant, cupped flowers held in large clusters. The petals are a delicate soft pink, paler on the outside, and the blooms open to reveal prominent yellow stamens. It carries a powerful and delicious myrrh fragrance that is characteristic of many English roses. The plant is upright and vigorous, eventually forming a well-balanced shrub about 1.2m tall. Its foliage is healthy and resistant to disease, making it a low-maintenance choice for the mixed border. In the UK, it is a reliable repeater, blooming from early summer until the first frosts. It has won several awards for its fragrance and performance. It prefers a sunny position but will cope with some partial shade. Pruning involves cutting back by about half in late winter to encourage bushy growth and plenty of flowers.
