Rose 'Royal William'

'Royal William' (known in Germany as 'Duftzauber 84') is a top-tier deep red Hybrid Tea rose that is widely grown for exhibition and garden display in Britain. It produces large, perfectly formed, high-centered blooms of a rich crimson-red that holds its colour well even in hot sun. The fragrance is strong and typically 'rose-like'. It is a vigorous, upright shrub that can reach up to 1m in height, with exceptionally dark green, glossy foliage that is very resistant to disease. It is fully hardy (H7) and provides a very long season of interest, often flowering well into the autumn. This rose is particularly noted for its long, straight stems, which make it one of the best red roses for cutting. It requires a sunny position and benefits from regular feeding and mulching to support its vigorous growth and prolific flowering. It is an excellent choice for a formal rose bed or as a traditional focal point in a garden.
