Rose 'Nye Bevan'

Introduced to honour the founder of the NHS, this David Austin rose is a charming addition to any garden. It produces unusual, light yellow flowers that open to a flat, rosette shape, eventually fading to a creamy white. The petals have a distinct, almost paper-like texture and are loosely arranged around a central cluster of golden stamens. It has a soft, light Myrrh fragrance. This rose forms an upright shrub with very healthy, semi-glossy, mid-green foliage and few thorns, making it pleasant to handle. Reaching about 1.1m in height, it is ideal for the middle of a border or a large container. It is a repeat-flowering variety that stays looking fresh throughout the season. In the UK, it is highly disease-resistant and fully hardy. For the best display, plant in groups of three to create a dense, flowery mass. It prefers a sunny spot but will tolerate light shade.

Sun: Full sun to partial shade.

Soil: Rich, moisture-retentive soil.

Hardiness: H6 — down to −20°C.
