Rose 'Lark Ascending'

'Lark Ascending' is a unique English Shrub Rose known for its airy, graceful habit and light, delicate appearance. Unlike many of the heavy-petalled David Austin roses, this variety has semi-double, shallowly cupped flowers of a beautiful clear apricot. The upward-facing blooms are held in large, open clusters and have a light tea or myrrh fragrance. The shrub is exceptionally vigorous and healthy, reaching about 1.5m in height and 1.2m in width. It has an attractive, tall and bushy growth habit that works well towards the back of a border. It is fully hardy (H7) and is particularly resistant to disease. Because the flowers are not too dense, it has a more informal, 'wild' look that fits perfectly into cottage gardens or naturalistic planting schemes. It is also very attractive to pollinators. It repeat-flowers reliably and provides a soft, glowing splash of colour that blends well with a wide range of perennials.

Sun: Full sun to partial shade.

Soil: Most well-drained soils.

Hardiness: H7 — below −20°C.

Flowering: Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct.
