Rose 'Eglantyne'

One of the most beautiful English Shrub Roses, 'Eglantyne' produces perfectly formed, saucer-shaped flowers of the softest, most delicate pink. The petals are neatly arranged, often with a small button eye in the centre. It has a classic, strong Old Rose fragrance that is quintessential to David Austin's breeding. The shrub has a bushy, branching habit with plenty of small prickles and attractive, typical rose foliage. It reaches a height of about 1.2m. In UK gardens, it is prized for its elegance and the reliability of its repeat flowering. It is a very healthy variety, though it appreciates a good mulching in spring to retain moisture. Because of its soft colouring and sweet scent, it works wonderfully in a romantic cottage garden setting or as part of a formal rose bed. It is fully hardy and adapts well to most garden conditions, including partial shade.
