Rose 'Bleu Magenta'

'Bleu Magenta' is a stunning Rambling rose prized for its unusual and captivating flower colour. It produces clusters of small, double flowers that open a deep, velvety crimson-purple and fade to a distinct slatey-blue or magenta hue. The effect of the different ages of blooms on the plant at once is quite remarkable. It has a light, sweet fragrance. Growing to about 4-5 metres, it is an excellent choice for covering arches, pergolas, or east-facing walls. Like many ramblers, it is once-flowering, but the display in midsummer is incredibly dense and lasts for several weeks. It has relatively few thorns and healthy, dark green, glossy foliage. It is fully hardy and performs best in a spot where it has room to spread. While it prefers full sun to bring out the best colours, it will tolerate some partial shade. It is a unique choice for gardeners seeking something beyond the standard pink and white roses.

Sun: Full sun to partial shade.

Soil: Well-drained, fertile soil.
