Field Rose
The Field Rose is a charming native British scrambling rose, often found in hedgerows and woodland edges. It produces a profusion of small, single, pure white flowers with prominent yellow stamens in mid-summer, followed by small, reddish-orange hips. It is a more delicate climber than Rosa canina, reaching 1-3m in height and spread, and its lax habit makes it ideal for training over low fences or through other shrubs. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, tolerating a range of conditions. Hardy to H6, it's an excellent choice for wildlife gardens, providing nectar for pollinators and hips for birds.
