Rodgersia

Rodgersia aesculifolia is a magnificent, architectural perennial that brings a bold statement to damp, shady areas of UK gardens. It features large, deeply veined, horse chestnut-like leaves emerging bronze in spring, maturing to a rich green. In summer, tall, stately plumes of frothy, creamy-white flowers rise dramatically above the foliage, creating an impressive display. Growing to about 1-1.5 metres tall when in flower, it thrives in partial shade and requires consistently moist to wet soil, making it ideal for bog gardens, pond margins, or damp woodland edges. Fully hardy (H6), Rodgersia provides dramatic foliage and elegant flowers, perfect for adding a touch of the exotic to a shaded, damp landscape.
