Ranunculus 'Rococo Orange'

The Rococo series of Ranunculus is a modern take on the traditional Persian buttercup, specifically bred for increased vigour and flower size. 'Rococo Orange' produces spectacular, fully double, ruffled blooms in a vivid, saturated orange that can look almost artificial in its perfection. These tubers, often referred to as 'corms' or 'claws', are planted in autumn or late winter. In the UK, they flower in late spring and early summer, bridging the gap between spring bulbs and summer perennials. They reach about 30-40cm in height and have attractive, dark green parsley-like foliage. They are somewhat temperamental in the damp UK climate and require excellent drainage to prevent the tubers from rotting. Many British gardeners grow them in containers or raised beds to control the moisture levels. They make exceptional, long-lasting cut flowers. Once the foliage dies back in summer, the tubers should be kept dry.
