Striped Squill

Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica, commonly known as striped squill, is a charming small bulb that produces delicate spikes of pale ice-blue, star-shaped flowers, each petal adorned with a distinctive darker blue stripe. These exquisite blooms emerge in early spring, often alongside snowdrops and crocuses, creating a subtle yet captivating display. Fully hardy and easy to grow, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. It naturalises readily, forming attractive clumps or drifts in rock gardens, at the front of borders, or under deciduous trees. It's a wonderful addition for an early splash of soft colour.
