Cherry 'Sunburst'
'Sunburst' is an excellent self-fertile sweet cherry cultivar, making it a fantastic choice for smaller UK gardens where space for multiple trees is limited. It produces large, dark red to black cherries with a deliciously sweet flavour and firm, juicy flesh, ripening in mid-summer. The tree is moderately vigorous with an upright habit, producing an abundance of delicate white blossoms in April, which are a welcome sight after winter. For best results and optimal fruit production, plant 'Sunburst' in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained, fertile soil. Protection from birds may be necessary as the fruit ripens.
