Dwarf Green Stripe Bamboo 'Chrysophyllus'
Pleioblastus viridistriatus 'Chrysophyllus' is a vibrant, dwarf running bamboo, prized for its exceptionally bright, golden-green variegated foliage. The leaves are boldly striped with lime green, providing an invigorating splash of colour. This compact bamboo typically grows to 60-90cm, forming dense ground cover or adding brilliant foliage contrast to borders. While it is a runner, its shallow root system makes it relatively easy to manage with root barriers. It is fully hardy (H6) and thrives in full sun to partial shade, where its colour is most intense, in moist, well-drained soil. Inconspicuous flowers are rarely produced. 'Chrysophyllus' is an excellent choice for brightening shady areas, providing year-round colour, or for container planting where its vivid foliage can be admired.
