Green Stripe Bamboo 'Variegatus'

A robust, running bamboo with upright, sturdy culms and long, narrow green leaves, often with subtle pale green stripes, giving it a fresh, vigorous appearance. It can reach an ultimate height of 2-4m and spreads vigorously if not contained. It is very hardy in the UK, rated H5. Flowering is rare. It is versatile, thriving in full sun to partial shade in a range of well-drained soils, though it prefers consistent moisture. Its upright habit makes it suitable for informal hedging or screening, requiring root management.
