Fern-leaf Bamboo 'Variegatus'
A delightful dwarf, running bamboo renowned for its finely textured, variegated foliage that resembles a fern. Its small leaves are typically green with creamy-white stripes, creating a bright effect. It forms a dense mat, reaching an ultimate height of 0.3-0.6m, making it perfect for ground cover, containers, or edging. It is hardy to H5 in the UK, although foliage can be scorched in exposed, cold conditions. Flowering is rare. It prefers partial shade, but can tolerate full sun if the soil remains moist. Its delicate appearance belies its robust nature, and it's excellent for brightening up shady areas.
