Bamboo 'Dorset Cream'

'Dorset Cream' is a beautiful dwarf running bamboo, prized for its bright, creamy-gold leaves, often subtly striped with green. It forms a dense, spreading groundcover, typically reaching 60-90cm in height with an indefinite spread. This hardy bamboo (H5) is excellent for brightening shady borders or providing groundcover under trees. It performs best in partial shade to full shade, where its variegated foliage retains its best colour, and prefers moist, well-drained soil. A root barrier or regular weeding is needed to control its spread. It adds a delicate texture and luminous quality to the garden floor year-round.

Sun: Partial shade to full shade.

Soil: Moist, well-drained loam.
