Oriental Arborvitae
The Oriental Arborvitae is a slow-growing evergreen conifer, forming a dense, narrowly conical to ovoid shape with flattened sprays of bright green, scale-like foliage. Its foliage sometimes takes on attractive bronze or purplish tints in cold winter weather, adding seasonal interest. It typically reaches 3-6 metres in height with a spread of 1.5-3 metres. Hardy (H5), it prefers full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating drier conditions better than some other Thuja species. Often used for hedging, screening, or as a specimen plant, providing year-round structure and fine texture. It is a resilient and low-maintenance option.
