Japanese Pittosporum 'Nanum'

A handsome evergreen shrub, 'Nanum' is a compact cultivar valued for its dense, rounded habit and glossy, dark green, oval leaves. In late spring to summer, it produces clusters of small, highly fragrant, creamy-white flowers that mature to yellow. It forms a neat, low mound, typically reaching 50-80 cm in height and 1-1.5 metres in spread, making it ideal for ground cover, front of borders, or containers. Hardy (H4) but prefers a sheltered spot in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Tolerates coastal conditions and is drought-tolerant once established.

Sun: Full sun to partial shade.

Soil: Well-drained.

Hardiness: H4 — down to −10°C.

Flowering: May, Jun, Jul.
