Silver Pine
The Limber Pine, specifically Pinus flexilis, is a tough and adaptable evergreen conifer known for its flexible, often upward-curving branches and soft, long, blue-green needles borne in bundles of five. It forms an open, broadly conical to rounded shape, eventually reaching an ultimate height of 10-15 metres with a spread of 5-8 metres. Extremely hardy (H6-H7), it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating poor, dry, and exposed conditions, often found in rocky, high-altitude environments. While its flowers are inconspicuous, it produces attractive, elongated cones. An excellent, resilient specimen tree or windbreak for challenging sites, providing robust evergreen interest and habitat.
