Swiss Stone Pine 'Compact Gem'

Pinus cembra 'Compact Gem' is a superb, slow-growing cultivar of the Swiss Stone Pine, highly valued for its dense, compact, and broadly conical habit. This makes it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, rockeries, or as a container specimen where space is at a premium. It typically reaches a height of 2-3m with a spread of 1.5-2m over 20 years. The needles are soft, in bundles of five, and a lovely blue-green colour with silvery undersides, providing excellent year-round interest. It is exceptionally hardy, thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating exposure and cold winds. 'Compact Gem' maintains a neat, architectural form without requiring much pruning, offering a reliable and attractive evergreen presence.
