Oriental Spruce
The Oriental Spruce is a refined, slow-growing evergreen conifer with a dense, narrowly conical to pyramidal habit. It is highly valued for its short, glossy, very dark green needles which are densely packed on the shoots, creating a rich, luxurious texture. Small, pendulous, purplish cones add to its ornamental appeal. It prefers a sheltered position with full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained, acidic soil. One of the most elegant spruces, it makes a superb specimen tree for medium to large gardens, providing year-round beauty and a classic, stately appearance.
